Once There Was A Snowman

Theme: Snowmen

Choosing Time: Color, Little People Village

Art: Snowmen

AM Snack: Popcorn & Juice Boxes

PM Snack: Popcorn, Cheese Sticks, Fruit Leather, & Homemade Carmels

Music & Movement: We built an indoor snowman today. As each item was added we did a corresponding activity. These are some of them:
  • Once There Was A Snowman
  • 8 Happy Snowmen
  • Chubby Little Snowman
  • Oh, What a Miracle
  • See Me Run
  • Wiggle in my Toe
  • Snow is Falling
  • If All the Snowflakes were Hamburgers & Milkshakes
Book: The Biggest, Best Snowman by Margery Cuyler
We read the book together and then had a little discussion about all the BIG things Little people can do.

Choosing Time: Legos, Lincoln Logs, Little Figures, Little Finger Puppets, Light Bright, Flashlights, Large ABC Puzzle, & Letters

Movement: " Loop de Loo"

A Little ABC Christmas Book
Nursery Rhymes beginning with "Little" (Some of the children enjoyed acting them out)

Lesson: We discussed what Letter "L" says and how it looks. We guessed some words that begin with "L". We had 2 volunteers make the letter "L" with their bodies. We stated which items were Large and which were Little.

Science:
  • Lemon & Lime Tasting with & without sugar
  • Painting/Writing with Lemon Juice

Math: Practiced Counting--We stomped our "hooves" according to the number I called out.

Drama: We are excited about our play. We have worked hard on it. Hopefully you can come & enjoy it with us on Thursday.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Theme: Santa

Choosing Time: Duplos, Trains, Cars, Dinosaurs, Gingerbread Baby Game

AM Snack: Frozen Yogurt

PM Snack: Juice Boxes, Fruit Snacks, & Granola Bars wrapped up in beautiful Christmas Paper. The kids were convinced that Santa had prepared it himself :)

Drama: We rehearsed our play. It is fun to see how some kiddos are really into their parts! I love hearing the words they've chosen to say and the actions they use. Super cute! We are looking forward to performing it for you next week. I'll let you know the details soon!
