Science:
  • We found some slugs in my yard. We watched them slide and leave a trail of slime. Some of us held them. Some of us put some into a bucket of water just to see what would happen. Some of us even tried to color them with chalk. It was fun to see one roll over. Slugs move on their bellies (which is actually termed a muscular foot). Slugs love to eat leaves, flowers, and vegetables.
  • We searched my yard for some spider webs. We found one that had some ants still caught in it. We saw some spiders while searching for slugs. We touched a spider web and felt how sticky they are.
Math:
  • Spider Counting Game: Each player would roll a dice. Then he would move his spider that many spaces. If a player landed on the bird, he had to move back 2 spaces. A fun way to practice counting.
  • When we had some apples for snack we had fun counting the seeds in each apple. The first apple had 3, the second had 5, and the third had 8. We then added all the seeds together.

  • Itsy Bitsy Spider
  • There Was A Little House
  • Six Little Ducks
  • Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
  • I Am Special
  • Little Skunk Hole
  • ABC's

Writing: Practiced "S" in workbook, shaving cream, and paper.

Sweetest Thing I Heard This Week:
"I have to go to school. Miss Jodi needs me." AND it is true, I need each and every one of you!
