Science:  Many of you have seen our "butter-pillar".  We have loved having him in our classroom.  Since he cannot fly, it has been fun to hold him and observe him eating with his long tongue.  His eyes are also interesting to notice as they are quite large for his body and are camouflaged quite well.

  • Mother, May I?
  • Red Light, Green Light
  • Elephant Stampede
  • Octopus Song
Coldstone Ice Cream Field Trip: "I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream!"

Reading/Writing:  Mother's Day Letters
I gave them the writing prompt, "I love my mom.  She is..."  I had four adjectives (nice, pretty, perfect, fun) to choose from and each child chose one of them to write about his/her mother.  It was cute to watch several of them read over what they had written.

Art:  Mother's Day Sachets
The children decorated the bags and filled them with lavender.  Most of the children chose to sew their bags up.  We hope you all feel loved!

Birthdays:  We celebrated three birthdays this week!  We really love our birthday dance!

California Pizza Kitchen Field-trips:  We were treated so well!  We had a lovely tour of the kitchen, a peek inside the brick oven, coloring sheets, made our own pizzas, and ate the yummy pizzas with a nice cold drink!  I received a few pics and a sweet note today from Stephanie at CPK:
Good Afternoon Jodi!
Thanks again for bringing the Kids in here for the Kids Tour. We love doing them! Your kids are the most well behaved group that I can remember... Look forward to doing more things like this in the future!
