Theme: Letter "D"
Choosing Time: Dig for Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs, Dinosaur Memory Game, Story Loft
Snack: Thank you Leo for the yummy fruit snacks, cereal, & "Dinosaur Back" Triangle Sandwiches! It was Delicious!
Music & Movement: Dino, Ditty, Ditty-Dum, Ditty Do, Choose a Moving Way for a Dad, Duck, Dinosaur, Dog, or Dragon (while moving to the same rhythm as the drum), Dinosaur, Dinosaur, & 5 Dancing Dragons
Lesson: We discussed many things that begin with Letter "D." We practiced making its sound. We "drew" it in the air with our "magic fingers."
Science: We learned about some different kinds of Dinosaurs. The Utah-raptor was at least 19 feet long. I asked them how many kids it would take to make the same length as a Utah-raptor. It took 6! Then we used a tape measure to mark off how big a Tyrannosaurus Rex was (48 feet). We started at the front door and had to go out the back door and onto the patio! Dinosaurs were Huge! (Even bigger than all of the dads! Which was surprisingly disappointing to some :))
Art: Dinosaur "Fossils"
Writing: We practiced writing our "D's" in our workbooks.
Book: Just for fun we read, The Runaway Pumpkin by Kevin Lewis
Word of the day: "Vomiting" --Holly
Quote of the day: "My mommy has another baby in her tummy!" --anonymous (But definitely not me)
